Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino Responsible Gaming

Scholarship winner Arthur Pegg conducts training meetings

Arthur Pegg, the 2009-10 Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino Responsible Gaming Scholarship Award winner, conducted responsible gaming training meetings at Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino on Monday and Tuesday.

The 28-year-old native of Northern Virginia is the first award winner of the Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino Responsible Gaming Scholarship and is in his final year of school at the University of Arizona Race Track Industry Program.

Pegg spent much of the summer of 2009 working as in intern at Ladbrokes Sportsbook in London, England. He presented his research and findings on responsible gaming programs in New Mexico and Europe to the managers of Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino this week. Pegg said, “The gaming industry is quite fascinating. Gambling is here to stay. With the expansion in gaming in many states, I believe it is important to have responsible gaming measures in place.”

Sunland Park simulcast coordinator and responsible gaming committee member Steve Pedigo said, “Mr Pegg reflects a mission that is very important to us and our industry.”

Pegg gained a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University in 2006. His father, Peter, is a leading Thoroughbred bloodstock agent in Virginia.
