LINE COOK

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains a clean and safe work area adhering to food safety and health standards.
  • Ensures food ingredients are stored in their designated area and rotated in the proper manner.
  • Prepares all items in accordance with approved recipe cards.
  • Handles and cleans kitchen equipment carefully and safely to prevent damage or injury.
  • Works efficiently and effectively to gather, wash, cut, season, cook, and store quality ingredients.
  • Performs a variety of butchering tasks, such as trimming, and cutting.
  • Prioritizes and organized tasks for speed and quality assurance.
  • Ensures requisitions are filled out for following days par-stock requirements.
  • Reports directly to Kitchen Manager/Chef and Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications Skills:           

  • Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness and personal hygiene.
  • Food handler’s card required.
  • Team Player
  • Ability to work under pressure an take initiative in a fast paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Physical Requirements – ability to lift materials up to 50 lbs.; stand for long periods of time, carry, bend, stretch, stoop; dealing with fluctuations of temperature from hot to cold.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year line cook experience.

 

CONCESSION COOK

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Sells concessions including soft drinks and food items to spectators at various events.
  • Receives money and makes correct change for customer.
  • Monitors money in cash drawer to ensure adequate change is available.
  • Performs other duties such as cleanup of concession stand and counting revenues as assigned by supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications Skills:           

  • Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Strong customer service.
  • Knowledge and skill in handling money including making change.
  • Physical Requirements – ability to lift materials up to 50 lbs.; stand for long periods of time.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year concessions experience.

 

HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
  • Represents Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino with the New Mexico Gaming Control Board and The New Mexico Racing Commission to ensure the company’s in compliance with their licensing regulations
  • Maintains all employee files, active and inactive
  • Assists in the new hire process to include but not limited to scheduling interviews, employment verification, job offers
  • Provides assistance to other employees

Qualifications and Skills:        

  • Computer literate, to include Microsoft Office (Excel and Word is a must)
  • Customer service and telephone etiquette skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Reliable
  • Bi-lingual, English/Spanish
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Good organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass a background check in order to obtain a racing license

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiar with employee benefits such as medical, 401K, FMLA
  • Familiar with employment laws
  • Previous Human Resources experience
